May 12, 10am-4pm, $50-$70 (sliding scale).
Join us in welcoming Charity Cimarron, of Ariadne's Thread, as she teaches us some embroidery techniques and ethnic designs from the Balkans and Croatia. You can choose to make a decorative embroidery hoop piece, or embellish a piece of clothing that you bring in.
Thread, needles, hoops, and linen will be provided. Bring your own clothing pieces if desired (optional)!
About the teacher:
Charity Cimarron comes from a long line of craftswomen and has found much joy in making things with her hands. She gets her hands into all kinds of stitchery and handwork, including weaving, bookbinding, leatherwork, embroidery, basketry, and primitive handcrafts.
She currently teaches Handwork and Music at Azalea Mountain School (a Waldorf school in West Asheville) and is a freelance instructor at gatherings across the East Coast.
Please Note: In warmer weather we always try to host classes outside if everyone is ok with it, so dress in layers in case we move inside or outside during the day to help everyone remain comfortable and happy!
