About Echoview

Echoview Fiber Mill is a spinning mill, knitting operation, and design house based in Weaverville, NC. We make exceptionally high quality and beautifully designed home goods, accessories, and craft knitting and weaving yarns using natural fibers like wool, alpaca, silk, mohair, and organic cotton. We are textile lovers, designers, and total creatures of comfort. Our work reflects who we are in a style that is both simple and modern. Our facility is a Gold LEED certified building, so sustainability is literally the foundation of everything we do and is taken into account in each decision we make.

Β

We embrace an age when community means something deeply local, while also involving people all over the globe who share an interest and passion for the beauty of handmade things. Being just 15 minutes outside of downtown Asheville, and with our friends on social media, we get to constantly connect and collaborate with endlessly creative folks as they push the boundaries of the modern craft movement.  We also work with friends who have been farming these rich mountains and beautifully crafting simple home goods out of locally sourced materials for generations. We've got one hand in the past, with our eye on the future.

Our Founder

Julie Jensen is a force of nature. Our founder is one of the most caring people you will ever meet. Her compassion for the planet, her community, textiles and ecology led her break ground in Weaverville, NC and build the first Gold LEED Certified fiber mill in the USA. Julie relocated to the area after accidentally falling in love with a small farm on a visit to Asheville from her home in the Northeast. She started Echoview Farm in 2005, and started working on the mill years after, with the idea of creating a space that could help other small fiber farmers add value to the fleeces of their fiber animals.

While the mill has changed and evolved a lot since its start, Julie's dedication to the environment and community have not wavered an inch. Neither has her love of animals, or her passion for natural dyes.

Echoview Farm

Located just across the road from the fiber mill is Echoview Farm - an 86 acre tract of land that is home to a menagerie of extremely happy fiber animals, honey bees, dye plants, chickens, and currently a LOT of tomatoes. You'll be able to find the fruits of our labor there throughout our products, from the mohair in the Haley Yarn to the lavender in our infused honey, as we work to involve the goods from the farm in our product development as much as we possibly can. Eggs from our happy chickens are also available in our retail shop when you visit the mill
