Julie Jensen | Founder, CEO

I feel fortunate to have been able to have a lot of really different experiences in my life. I’ve worked as a lawyer, researcher, bartender, youth advocate, and at K-Mart (who I sued for gender bias in 1978). I’ve lived in Texas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Vermont, Maryland, and North Carolina. While it hasn’t always been easy, I’m so happy to have been able to start Echoview and build such a great team.

Originally from Rhode Island, I moved to Asheville after graduating from Skidmore College where I studied Anthropology and Studio Art. I focused on archaeology and biological anthropology, while simultaneously deepening my love of textiles and ceramics. After working with cotton for two years, my interests turned to wool, and I found my way here to Echoview.
