We are so very excited about our newest addition to the yarn family here at Echoview - BunnyPaca is a heavenly soft blend of angora rabbit fur, alpaca, and merino wool. The angora is from a small farm located about 2 hours from the mill here in Western North Carolina. These sweet rabbits are lovingly raised and sheared a few times a year by the farmer and her daughter. We have blended the angora with locally sourced alpaca which gives each colorway its subtle and natural color. We then balance this blend with USA merino wool. The yarn has a delightfully lofty feel and is spun with slubs that highlight the farmyard origins of the blend. When knit, the yarn begins to bloom, and as you block and wear the items knit from it they will bloom more substantially and develop an even fuzzier and softer hand over time.
We are so proud to be able to support small farmers in their dreams of responsibly and humanely raising these adorable animals, and so happy that the result is this exceptionally soft, lofty, and dreamy yarn. This yarn is dependent on the seasonal supply of the angora fiber, so is made in small batches.
