Fall Candle Making for Beginners

Fall Candle Making for Beginners

October 19th, 1 - 4 PM

When the leaves start changing colors, the days get shorter, and the temperature gradually drops, there’s something so appealing to staying home, cozying up to a good book/vinyl/movie, and lighting a candle. Candles can get pricy- especially when you’re mindful of the contents. This class, taught by Alysha Clark, will teach you how to make two 16oz organic Coconut Wax / Beeswax Blended candles, using Essential Oils as fragrance (one for you and a friend, or -no shame- two for you!). You will learn how to fragrance your candle using a woodsy essential oil blend.

After pouring the candles, they will require 48-hours cool down and set. After 48 hours you can swing by the mill to pick up your very own handmade candles, or I can meet with you / ship you the candles!

Materials are included in class fee of $40. You can take home your candle making supplies for an added $15 (this includes the pitcher, spoon, and thermometer)

About the Teacher:

Born and raised in Charleston, SC, Alysha grew up playing music and dabbling in every type of arts and crafts possible. She taught herself to make candles in the winter of 2015 after her family had a themed “candles” gift exchange. After getting her Associate in Arts, she decided to move to Asheville, NC to get a fresh perspective on life. Shortly after moving, she discovered knitting and life hasn't been the same since.

Currently, Alysha works at Echoview Fiber Mill as a Yarn Spinner. In her spare time, she juggles knitting projects, weaving rugs, making candles, getting outside, and nannying.
